Recurring payments on a bounded allowance that customers can cancel or revoke anytime.
Coming soon
Subscriptions are coming after one-time payments. This page describes how they'll work.
A subscription puts a customer on a price, charged every period (for example, monthly or annually). A subscription project sells its tiers as one project.
The customer approves an allowance once, from their wallet, and Sedge's contract collects each payment when it's due.
Sedge can never take more than you agreed. The allowance is bounded: it covers around 12
periods (one year) and is never unlimited. Before it runs out, Sedge sends a
subscription.approval_expiring webhook so you can ask the customer to renew
it.
Customers can cancel anytime from the customer portal, or revoke the allowance directly in their wallet.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
trialing | The customer is in a trial and hasn't been charged yet. |
active | The latest payment went through. |
past_due | A payment couldn't be collected, for example because the wallet didn't hold enough USDC. |
canceled | The subscription has ended and won't renew. |
When a payment fails, the subscription moves to past_due, the customer is notified, and your
server receives a webhook. If you ever miss one, you can
check the subscription status by your own user id.
A customer can pay from a different wallet without being counted as churned. See Revenue metrics.
